Personally, I do it like this: 900 ml of milk (a standard package) is just enough for all the jars if you fill them about 3/4 full, then I set them in the yogurt maker, set it for 6 hours, and go to sleep. Do not recommend. A friend recommended it, I bought this model, did it twice, and was satisfied. Tasty and healthy.
