Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight Flash 3350100F

Nikon has reimagined both on- and off-camera lighting with the Nikon SB-5000 AF Speedlight Flash, which brings revolutionary radio control to the Creative Lighting System with Advanced Wireless Lighting and comes equipped with a world's first shoe-mounted flash cooling system that enables up to 100 consecutive full-power flashes... more.These features alone are enough to put it at the top of the speedlight heap, but the SB-5000 doesn't rest and provides a powerful guide number of 113' at ISO 100 and 35mm while also shrinking in overall size compared to its predecessors6; Of course, the SB-5000 AF Speedlight is fully compatible with Nikon's i-TTL automatic exposure system found in a majority of their cameras for fast, accurate operation. Along with this, the radio control implemented in the SB-5000 requires a compatible DSLR using the WR-A10 Wireless Remote Adapter and WR-R10 Wireless Remote Controller in order to fully realize the power of the system. This enables the camera and flash to wirelessly control up to 6 groups of flashes from up to 98' away, without requiring any line of sight. Also, the SB-5000 and the radio system are fully compatible with the existing optical triggering method of older units and can even be mixed and matched for maximum versatility.; ;{Key Features}

The Nikon Speedlight SB-5000 is an excellent professional flash that stands out for its advanced features and compatibility with Nikon cameras. It offers a guide number of 35 at ISO 100, with a fast reload time of 2.6 seconds, which can be reduced to 1.8 seconds with Ni-MH batteries. The flash supports full TTL, i-TTL, and D-TTL, and features a rotary head with a beam angle of 24 to 200 mm. It includes autofocus illumination, automatic and manual zoom, and can function in both master and slave modes with wireless control. The SB-5000 is equipped with a powerful cooling system and comes with a diffusion cap and two colored nozzles. While it requires a separate transmitter for radio sync, it remains a top choice for professionals seeking reliable and versatile lighting solutions.

Nikon entered the radio-controlled flash arena in 2016. The Japanese brand's first home-grown radio-controlled device was the portable SB-5000 flash.

Flagship of the series

The model is positioned as the flagship of the Speedlight series with all the ensuing events. The flash's guide number "floats" in the range from 35 at the minimum zoom value (24 mm) to 55 at its telephoto position (200 mm). Like most of its peers, the "head" of the device rotates 180° to the right and left, rises 90° up and tilts down within 7°. The design of the head's rotating joint inspires confidence.

Remote control

From the start, full compatibility of the flash is declared in a pair with Nikon D500 and D5 SLR cameras. And then, to send commands for "ignition" via a radio channel, you will need to acquire a separate WR-R10 transmitter, which is connected via a port with 10 contacts on the front of the camera. In general , remote control via radio and optical signal is possible in Master and Slave modes. In the master mode, the model can operate up to 18 pulsed light sources, united under the wing of 6 groups.

Ease of handling

The large-caliber screen with a whole scattering of useful information and a powerful cooling system add convenience in handling the flash, due to which at full power you can “snap” about 120 frames with a 5-second interval. Additionally, the manufacturer has equipped its brainchild with a diffusing cap and two color filters. In close connection with the flash, it is possible to realize almost all photographic ideas, which is why Nikon Speedlight SB-5000 is valued among “Nikonists”.
