Description of Speedlight SB-800

The new Nikon Speedlight SB-800 features wireless i-TTL flash control, an evolution of the D-TTL technology used with the D1 series cameras, and additional features that include advanced wireless control - wireless multiple flash control, flash exposure lock (FV lock), automatic FP high-speed sync and flash color temperature control.

Also featured is a new AF-assist beam with an extended service area, matched to the new 11-area Multi-CAM 2000 AF module used in the new Nikon D2H. Additional flash capabilities include a built-in wide-angle diffuser (for shooting with lenses having an angle of view equivalent to a focal length of 14 mm in 135 [35 mm] format), a guide number of 38 (ISO 100, flash head zoom position 35 mm), and a flash head zoom range of 24 mm to 105 mm when using the auto zoom (in 5 mm increments from 35 to 105 mm).
