Unpretentious to housing

Oculus Rift is HTC Vive's main competitor in the PC VR headset market. It also needs a fairly powerful processor and graphics card, but does not put any requirements on the playing area in the room. You can play while sitting on a chair right in front of the PC, but it is better if the chair rotates.

Like no hands

The Rift costs a third less than the Vive, but this is due to a more modest package: a helmet with built-in headphones (others cannot be connected), a motion tracking desktop camera, a remote control for menu navigation and an Xbox One gamepad with a wireless adapter for connection to PC. But there are no motion controllers for the hands - this is the reason for the lower cost. They are purchased separately for Rift, and it is difficult to find them in east european stores.

Celebrity protégé

Fortunately, not all users and not all VR games, let alone ordinary ones, require motion controllers. But lower cost than a direct competitor, no requirements for playing space, as well as participation in the further development of the project of such well-known IT visionaries as Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook) and John Carmack (author of the Doom trilogy) make Oculus Rift, on our view, more interesting purchase. Moreover, Steam, along with its own Vive, also supports Rift.
