At the centre, the dial is cleverly crafted from recycled PET plastic using a process that produces a completely random, colourful and beautiful pattern. The dial is housed beneath anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass, encapsulated within a stainless steel case and bordered by a stunning unidirectional rotating divers bezel complete with ratcheted detailing, a 60 minute divers scale and a grey ceramic insert. Following suit to the rest of Oris’ best-selling divers watch collection, the Oris Aquis Date Upcycle 41.5mm watch comes with a screw in crown promising of a healthy water resistant rating of 300 metres. The screw down case back also assists while offering a view of the automatic winding movement housed inside. Equipped with the brand’s famous red oscillating rotor, the Oris 733 automatic winding calibre remains responsible for the hours, minutes, seconds and date complications. Each of the hands contrast perfectly against the upcycled PET plastic backdrop with white Superluminova inserts including a rounded element of luminous material on the lollipop seconds hand. The Swiss made movement also promises a power reserve of 38 hours and runs at a frequency of 28,800vph. Lastly, the Oris Aquis Date Upcycle is delivered in a special presentation box made from sustainable and recycled paper as a final statement of the brand’s sustainable mission for luxury watchmaking.
