Either a well-charged state employee, or already a representative of the middle class of smartphones — a device that blurs the fine line between these two concepts. The model carries a quad camera to the masses. At the head of it is a 48 MP Sony IMX586 image sensor with f / 1.79 aperture optics. In photography, it is assisted by 8 MP wide, a 2 MP module for blurring the background and a 2 MP sensor for shooting macro at a distance of 4 cm. The substrate for the display of the device was a 6.3-inch diagonal IPS-matrix with a FullHD + image resolution (2340x1080 pixels). The smartphone is powered by a strong middle-level Snapdragon 712 chipset. Together with it, 4 GB of RAM, Adreno 616 graphics and a 128 GB drive are installed “under the hood”. In case there is not enough space for data stor...age, the user has the right to refuse the services of a second SIM — a microSD flash drive (up to 256 GB inclusive) is not averse to taking its place. The smartphone recognizes the owner by the face and fingerprint (the fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear panel). Also, its body received a nano-coating for protection against splashes. An important point of the programme is support for 20-watt charging of a 4035 mAh battery via a USB-C port.

A new contender for the people's love

In the "popular" segment up to $300 — $400 this spring is especially hot. This is also the merit of Realme, a newcomer to our market. The company's new smartphone, Realme 5 Pro, is a pretty interesting $200 model with a high-quality 48-megapixel quad camera (based on Sony IMX586 sensor), a capacious battery, a large amount of internal memory (128 GB) and a bold design.

Design not like everyone else

In terms of design, Realme 5 Pro leaves an ambiguous impression. The back cover here, although gradient, stands out thanks to the asymmetrical geometric pattern, which was inspired by the designers of the Museum of Modern Art. The problem is that modern art, like similar design, is not liked by everyone. But we still praise the designers for their courage, they could do it “as always” and not strain. From the front, the smartphone looks quite familiar: most of the front panel is occupied by a quite ordinary IPS screen (6.3-inch diagonal, resolution 2340x1080), and a small drop-cut for the front camera flaunts on top.

without brakes

The smartphone has 128 GB of flash memory, 4 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 712 processor. In terms of RAM and internal storage, the smartphone clearly outperforms competitors in its segment and rather begs to be compared with the more expensive Realme XT. In fact, in the AnTuTu test, it fills 222,718 points, without any problems tossing numerous running applications or tabs in the browser. Performance in games is also on the level, for good reason in some east european stores it is positioned as an perfect smartphone for the millennial, who often plays mobile toys.

With a capacious battery, but without NFC

The list of other advantages of the smartphone should include increased “survivability” (sometimes the smartphone was discharged only by the end of the third day), fast 20-watt charging, support for Google AR Core augmented reality, which is rarely found in handsets of this level. Alas, the developers did not supply the NFC chip, so the owners of this model will have to pay the old fashioned way — in cash or with a bank card. As for the credibility of the new brand, Realme's approach is getting serious as long as these guys look like the new Xiaomi, and not just another Chinese no-name. But how it will turn out in reality, only time will judge.
