Model overview based on user reviews
The Stanley 1-93-968 tool storage set is a versatile solution for home tool organization, featuring a top toolbox of a good size and a lower drawer with ample space. It resembles a large suitcase on wheels with a retractable handle, making it aesthetically pleasing for home storage. However, the plastic sides can warp under heavy weight, and the lower drawer feels unstable due to its weight distribution and the quality of the wheel axle. The metal locks, although sturdy, are held in plastic slots, leading to potential issues with securing contents. While the product is affordable, it may not withstand heavy-duty use, as one user reported it falling apart after three months of active use. Overall, it is best suited for lighter, home-based storage needs rather than professional or heavy-duty applications.
Pros
Cons
Great solution for home tool storage. The top toolbox is a good size. Outwardly, it looks like a large suitcase on wheels, with a retractable handle. Aesthetically fits in the dressing room. The plastic sides of the tool box will warp if too much weight is placed in them. The bottom drawer has a lot more weight than the top drawer and it feels like it wants to fall all the time. Poor quality wheel axle, or most likely low end plastic where the wheels join. |
a complete disappointment, fell apart after three months of active use on stretch ceilings, but then served for another two or three years, all patched up and mended (it was a pity to spend money on a new one, too many hopes were invested in this box). We loaded it to the full, didn't spare it, the locks barely closed, the load wasn't heavy but bulky (about 25-30 kilos). price everything disappointed. The locks are metal, but they sit and hold in plastic slots. So many times I had to collect scattered screws and other debris piled up in the tray of the top drawer because the locks fell off. I WILL NOT BUY THIS AGAIN!!! I will either take a cheap no-name (used a cheap no-name case in parallel - it lasted just as long) or more expensive devices (keter dewalt makita metabo bosch). |

The lower part has a large open space. It holds my husband's entire collection of wrenches along with heavier tools. The plastic sides of the tool drawer will deform if you put too much weight in them. This makes it difficult to fit the upper tool panel, it must be perfectly square to sit properly.
The upper tool set is a good size, larger than our previous tool set. There is a main storage space, a tray located on top under the lid, and then storage trays on the lid itself. The upper tool panel looks sturdier than the lower part, probably due to its more compact size. The lower drawer has much more weight than the upper one, and it feels like it wants to fall over all the time. I think this is because of the wheels. We once took this suitcase to the cottage and noticed that the wheels start to tilt when you roll it forward. It seems that their axle is of low quality or most likely the cheap plastic where the wheels join. Therefore, the ideal use is only at home and to roll it over short distances.
