Processors, amplifiers for home theaters and subwoofers of the American brand Sunfire are known all over the world due to the perfect balance of components, reliability and high quality. The super-compact Cinema Ribbon Series CRM-2 BIP speaker system costs a hefty $1,100, and that's all for one speaker, not a pair. Well. Let's see what justifies such a figure.

Ergonomic beauty

The model turned out to be compact, 21x31x9.2 cm, and not heavy, 3.62 kg, easily and quickly mounted on the wall. The ebonite body is covered with 11 layers of piano lacquer and is available in 2 colours — black and white.

Powerful and clear sound

The Cinema Ribbon series has forever changed the notion that small speakers cannot deliver the luxury of premium sound. The 2-way speaker is equipped with ribbon drivers that deliver clear, distortion-free sound, creating a wide "diffused" rear soundstage.

An interesting feature of the system is that the woofer here is smaller than the tweeters, 4.5" versus 6, though stretched in length. This could not but affect the frequency range — low frequencies end at a threshold of 80 Hz, but high ones extend up to a record 40 kHz. The tweeters feature an Intelligent Tweeter Shaping design for fine-tuning of the ribbon driver's dispersion, which can be adjusted with a control located above the woofer.

The price of the speaker is justified by the high quality of parts and finishes, but most of all by its compactness with a very decent mid-high range. Without a doubt, this is the elite of home theater acoustics, but even with such a title, costing more than $ 1,000 apiece is, to put it mildly, indecent.
