As can be understood from the name of the laptop, it is entirely focused on the adherents of spending time in virtual game worlds. The model became the first-born in the line of Xiaomi gaming laptops, but the pancake in this case turned out to be certainly not lumpy. The laptop case, devoid of bright "screaming" elements, packs a powerful hardware as part of the Core i5 7300HQ or Core i7 7700HQ central processor, 8/16 GB of RAM (with the possibility of increasing the amount of RAM up to 32 GB), as well as NVIDIA GTX graphics 1050 Ti or GTX 1060.
Two drives are provided for data storage: a 128 or 256 GB SSD drive in conjunction with a classic terabyte hard drive. Windows 10, pre-installed out of the box, starts in such situations in the blink of an eye. Two coolers and large-diameter heat pipes are responsible for cooling the device. The gaming roots of the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop are provided by the RGB backlighting of the side faces and the keyboard, divided into 4 multi-coloured blocks.
As a display, the model got a 15.6-inch IPS-matrix with FullHD resolution (1920x1080 pixels). Another nice point is the Dolby Atmos audio system as part of two Hi-Res 3W speakers. There are more than enough ports on board the model (10 pcs, to be exact), thanks to which pairing the laptop with other devices and connecting peripherals to it does not raise the slightest questions.

Appearance, good hardware, easy to disassemble. Performance: Watch Dogs 2 on high-very high settings maintains a steady 60 FPS. A total of three slots for disks. The laptop has slight cooling issues: getting the CPU and GPU up to 80+ degrees in games is normal, and since they're covered by just a small grille, it's uncomfortable to use it on your lap. The cooling system at high loads sounds like a plane taking off, but over time I've gotten used to it and don't pay attention. The display is very thin, which doesn't inspire reliability: damaging it is quite easy. I also noticed that there are light leaks on the screen right out from the box, and their intensity changes from time to time. If you open and close carelessly, they will become worse. They don't catch the eye often, but it happens. The keyboard ribbon cables are glued to the body, so without an industrial hairdryer, it's best not to touch them. Quite heavy. The hinges are of good quality, but if damaged, they cannot be repaired and the entire monitor will need to be replaced. Some say the downside is the inability to charge the laptop via USB-C, but in this case, it's more technically impossible because it would require transferring too much power through it. |
A wonderful laptop. As mentioned in previous comments, the sound here is mediocre. The microphone is fine until you turn the cooling to maximum, then it's not very pleasant for the interlocutor to hear the fan noise, but this problem is solved with headphones since there are two jacks, one "combined" (Microphone + headphones), the other for a microphone. So, any will do. It's noisy, but laptops can be forgiven for such power. The cooling is good, even very, the processor has never heated above 70 degrees, and the GPU above 85. At maximum load, your fingers don't burn when you keep them on the keyboard. It handles all games, but not always at ultra 60 fps (Either you play at 30 but on ultra, or 60 but on high settings). About the keyboard, everything is fine except for the first two days when you get used to the additional keys. In terms of weight, it's heavy, but I don't feel much discomfort (I carry it to classes every day on one shoulder). Excellent placement of ports at the back, they really don't get in the way when you plug in something like a keyboard and monitor. The software for adjusting lighting and keys is on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/95wryp/m Or directly on Google Drive https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14kDWrLNG4 Power, cooling (Does not throttle under maximum load), connectors, small frames, additional keys. Sound (I wouldn't say it's completely bad, but I also can't say it's good) |
In the first days, I had to get used to the keyboard because there were extra buttons on the left, so I occasionally pressed those buttons. Also, the laptop makes a lot of noise, but when you put on headphones and start playing a game, you don't hear those sounds. Price, keyboard (backlighting can also be customized), many ports, small screen bezels, and excellent performance. Noisy |

I switched from a very budget laptop to this one, so I'm satisfied with the sound. A gaming laptop isn't supposed to sound like a speaker.
Initially, the sound was very strange: the speakers played at different volumes and sounded different overall. After about two weeks, it fixed itself on its own.
The laptop has an uneven exhaust: most of it goes to the side radiators.
Overall, I'm satisfied, but there are a couple of nuances.
