The model with index 4a is the most affordable representative of the fourth generation of the Redmi line. For the sake of low cost, the smartphone has lost some useful equipment, for example, a fingerprint scanner. But this did not affect the overall performance of the model in any way.
Strong middle peasant
The display and camera of the Xiaomi Redmi 4a are no different from the older members of the family. The 5-inch HD-screen gets a well-deserved plus for the excellent colour reproduction quality, and the cameras on board the device can be safely written down as a squad of strong middlings — they do not provide anything outstanding, but they do their job quite well. The phone also earns an average score in performance tests — 36K "points" in AnTuTu are a clear confirmation of this. In fact, this score translates into good responsiveness, smooth interface operation and the ability to run modern games(though not at maximum graphics settings).

At the heart of the smartphone is an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chip. A distinctive feature of the chip used is support for Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology. However for some reason, the Chinese manufacturer did not bother to put the appropriate charger in the box with the phone.
battery life
The hardware of the gadget is hidden under a plastic shell of good build quality — squeaks and backlashes are not terrible for the smartphone case. There is also a battery with a slightly reduced capacity compared to other models in the line — 3120 mAh. Thanks to the excellent optimization of the battery charge, it lasts for 2 full days of not too active phone operation.
Thunderstorm of state employees
Minor shortcomings of the model can only be recorded as the lack of backlighting of the navigation touch keys. The indicated minus is more than covered by the presence of an infrared port for controlling home appliances (for example, a TV or air conditioning). In its price category, only a few (in particular, Meizu M5) can seriously compete with a smartphone, so the label “thunderstorms of state employees” stuck to Xiaomi Redmi 4a even at the time of the announcement. And the model corresponds to this title in the root.
