The Ortofon 2MR Red Cartridge has been designed for tonearms with a low ride height featuring a cartridge body that is three millimetres shorter than the standard 2M model. The "R" quite simply means "Reduced" suited to certain tonearms from turntable manufacturers like Pro-Ject Rega and Linn where the correct vertical tracking angle (VTA) is not adjustable or compatible with larger mounting heights.The 2MR is otherwise unchanged and uses the same high-performance technology as the standard 2M Red.
