Fourth version of the JHS's most known and praised overdrive effect pedal - Morning Glory. It features Volume, Drive, Tone and Gain controls. The Volume control acts as a master output level control. One improvement of this version is the doubled amount of available headroom of this control. The Drive control dials in overdrive as user turns it clockwise. Other companies need a lot of buttons for a good sound, we only need 3 for each overdrive pedal and 2 for the clean boost pedal. From slightly distorted bass with tube sound character to completely distorted - no problem for the LDP (OD/CB). The overdrive pedal has a deep boost (toggle switche) to push the lower frequencies without getting muddy. The clean boost with deep boost (toggle switch) gives a lot of pressure to the sound and up to +20 dB (toggle switch) output level. The Royal Blue Overdrive is an extremely touch sensitive overdrive. It offers a wide range of tones from light overdrive into distortion and at lowest Distortion knob setting works as an EQ. It can also be used to create tube amp-like crunchy ‘strike hard for distortion’ effect. There is not much filtering on the overdrive, to provide a transparent tone that you can tailor with both the Treble and Bass controls.
