A volume pedal equipped with a precise magnetic sensor enabling it to operate almost wear-free. This sensor uses the Hall effect, named after Edwin Hall, to measure the strength of magnetic fields. In the Lehle Mono Volume the Hall sensor, which is made in Germany, is accurately calibrated to the built-in magnet and the control range of the pedal. A premium Blackmer VCA (= Voltage Controlled Amplifier) from the United States replaces here in this case the mechanical potentiometer. The new .45 Caliber is a pedal we have been asked to create for some time now. It is a recreation of the original 1962 JTM 45 sound, overdriven. The sonic influence came directly from the old Malcolm Young, brilliantly crunchy rhythm tones and the old Pete Townsend Live at Leeds, ''face-melting'' goodness! To achieve that sound seems like an easy task but this design proved to be quite a challenge. After a year or so we feel we have nailed it, not only in sound, but also in feel. True Bypass. Showing little to no respect for what instruments normally sound like, or even what many people want them to sound like, we pushed this thing until it sounded totally disgusting. Want a thick, gnarly fuzz sound? Sure, you can do that, and it'll sound really, really good. But you can also push the OVERLOAD slider into blooming, octave nastiness.
