The Cre8Audio West Pest Desktop Synthesizer is designed in collaboration with Pittsburgh Modular utilising the powerful topology used to create their iconic Voltage Research Lab synthesizer. Whilst staying true to the core principles of west coast synthesis the West Pest takes it much further thanks to its versatile wave folding/shaping capabilities. The varied tonal palette and hands-on controls make it easy to translate your ideas into sound. At the heart of the West Pest is a rich monophonic full voice with optimises waveforms used to create complex sounds. Using the wavefolder you can fold your selected waveforms back in on themselves (up to six times) to create vast harmonic depth. Shape and sculpt your sound with confidence using the unique Dynamics Controller and the multi-modulation section. The Dynamics Controller is a combination of a traditional-style filter a VCA and an envelope generator; all wrapped up into one. Inspired by Don Buchlas legacy the West Pest takes the west-coast additive synthesis style to the next level with a range of powerful tools to shape and craft your sound. You can create everything from snappy percussive sounds to analog-rich pads and everything in between. Get creative with your modulation using any of the 18 patch points available. Not only that but the West Pest can be removed from its housing and installed within a Eurorack system for added flexibility. A wide range of performance tools are on offer including the built-in controller buttons which can be used to play notes (as a one-octave keyboard) create sequences (using the 32-step sequencer) as a tap tempo clock source and much more.
