Horizontal bars in the doorway

For the doorway

— exercise devices that are mounted on a standard doorway — and, usually, without any additional effort like drilling walls. This category mainly includes horizontal bars (see "Product type"). Such a horizontal bar has a set of special stops: when installed, one of them clings to the upper trim of the doorway on the opposite side of the crossbar, and the second rests against the wall from the side of the crossbar. Due to this design, installation is very easy and fast, literally in a matter of seconds. This is especially true because a horizontal bar suspended in the doorway would interfere with the closing of the door: the device can only be hung up during training and removed after it. Some models of doorway horizontal bars can also be used on the floor, for example, for situps. There are two main drawbacks to this option. Firstly, such an installation is designed for a standard doorway size and an average wall thickness; in a wide opening, with too thick or thin walls, hanging may not be possible. Secondly, the reliability of hanging the horizontal bar strongly depends on the strength of the casing and its fastening. Therefore, before buying a doorway model, it is imperative to clarify whether the intended installation site is suitable for it.
