Headphones are indispensable in situations where you want to practice using an amplifier, but it is undesirable to make a lot of noise — for example, at a later time of the day, when others are already sleeping. In addition, they can be useful in the opposite situation: if it’s noisy around, and the sound from the combo amplifier’s speakers is lost against the background of the environment, then it’s most convenient to evaluate the sound of the combo and adjust its parameters through headphones.

Note that in most combo amplifiers, the “ears” are connected via a 6.35 mm Jack. It provides a better connection than 3.5 mm mini-Jack, in addition, the mini-jack plug can be plugged into such a jack through a simple adapter. However, there are also models with a 3.5 mm jack.
