— special gaskets, mainly used when installing wall-hung toilets. Such a gasket is usually made of a dense elastic material several millimetres thick. During installation, it is installed between the toilet and the wall, due to this, according to the manufacturers of such parts, several goals are achieved at once. Firstly, as the name suggests, the gasket absorbs the various vibrations of the toilet — for example, when draining water — and thus provides noise reduction. Secondly, the load is distributed on the wall as evenly as possible and over the largest possible area. Thirdly, the soft pad prevents the ceramics from coming into direct contact with the wall, thus preventing rubbing against uneven plaster or tiles.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the use of such details is a rather controversial issue. So, there is evidence that over time, the gasket shrinks and the toilet backlash appears. The outer edge of the gasket accumulates dirt and sooner or later loses its “presentation”. And perhaps the most serious drawback is that when mounted on a gasket, the toilet is held only by fixing bolts, without additional fixation. In light of all this, many craftsmen use an alternative option — instead of a gasket, a layer of silicone sealant is applied to the wall, which works both as an adhesive and as a shock absorber. However, such an installation has its drawbacks — first of all, these are serious difficulties in dismantling the toilet bowl.
