Drain kits

— kits that include all the necessary components to control the movement of water in the toilet tank. Such a set usually consists of at least an inlet and a drain valve; the kit may also include additional accessories — such as a separate flush button — but this is a rather rare case.

The design and types of inlet and outlet valves are described in detail in the relevant help items. Here we note that it is easier to buy such accessories in one set, and often even cheaper than separately. However it is worth considering compatibility with a specific tank: recall that the inlet fittings must correspond to the water supply, and the outlet fittings must correspond to the type of control for which the tank is designed. However, this most often does not cause any special problems: for many manufacturers, kits are completed in such a way as to take into account all available options for the type of inlet and drain valve. For example, if there are two types of inlets (upper and lower) and two types of drain valves (with a button and with a stem) in the general assortment, then there will most likely be four sets available (two types of drains for each type of inlet).
