— the surface with a merbau finish usually has a reddish-brown color reminiscent of mahogany (in English, the word mahogany is even used to refer to merbau as well). The wood grain patterns on such a surface are relatively subtle; they may appear as characteristic swirls or as a series of short, fine, closely spaced strokes applied to the surface.
