The specific meaning and purpose of this feature may be different, depending on the type of instrument. So, in the case of felt-tip pens, it means that the ink adheres well to paper, but is easily washed off hands and various hard surfaces; such tools are especially handy for young children who have not yet become accustomed to accuracy when drawing. Washable markers, in turn, are designed for special boards — the so-called magnetic marker; the drawing of such a marker can be easily erased with a special sponge or eraser installed on the instrument itself.
