— the canopy is a protective canopy for a crib. Such a canopy is usually made of thin fabric — transparent or translucent — and performs several functions at once. Firstly, it traps dust flying in the air: most of it settles on the fabric, and not inside the crib; This not only gives the baby protection, but also makes cleaning easier. Secondly, the canopy protects the baby from midges, mosquitoes and other harmful insects. Thirdly, the fabric curtain serves as an obstacle to air flow. So even thin fabric gives some protection against drafts, not to mention dense materials; however, the canopy does not interfere with normal ventilation and does not harm the child's breathing. Fourthly, the fabric canopy somewhat dims the ambient light, contributing to sound sleep.

Modern canopies can be made of different materials and have a different design: for example, some are able to cover the whole bed, others — partially, from the side of the head. Also note that a special holder (support) may be required to install such a canopy; however, many canopies are immediately sold with holders.
