The method of opening and closing such cabinets can be different: in some models, you simply need to grab the end (ends) of the drawer or door, in others there are simple recesses on such ends, in others, the push-to-open mechanism is used. Anyway, the absence of handles plays primarily an aesthetic role — this feature gives the furniture a neat appearance. Also, the advantages of such models include ease of cleaning and a minimum of protruding parts that can be touched by careless movement. But from a practical point of view, such a design is generally less convenient than full-fledged pens; push-to-open mechanisms are an exception, but they are quite complex and expensive.
