Rotors
— the brake disc is used in brakes of the corresponding type. By the name, it is a characteristic disk mounted on the hub; on the edge of the disc is a pair of pads, which, when the brakes are applied, clamp it, slowing down the rotation of the wheel. Modern brake discs have a rather specific appearance, with "spokes" from the centre to the outer rim and holes in the rim itself. This is done to reduce weight, and the holes in the rim are also to reduce heat from friction against the pads.Show
