Self-inflating mats

 

— full-size mats — that is, products whose size allows them to be used for relaxing in a lying position — made of self-inflating material. Such a material is similar in properties to a sponge: having a large thickness, thanks to open pores, it is able to compress several times. Accordingly, mats of this type are compressed for transportation, which ensures a small size, and when unfolded, they are filled with air, increasing in thickness. However to ensure the desired rigidity, the air has to be pumped up a little, but this usually does not pose any particular difficulties. The advantages of self-inflating mats are softness and a higher degree of thermal insulation compared to karemats. At the same time, they are more expensive, take longer to deploy and fold, and damage to the shell can make such a product unusable (although self-inflating models are still not as delicate as inflatable models in this regard).
