5.1 computer speakers
5.1
— acoustic systems of five main speakers — centre, a pair from the front, a pair from the rear — and a subwoofer for low and ultra-low frequencies.Five main channels are now considered the minimum number needed to reproduce full surround sound (which can be heard from all directions, including from behind). For simple everyday tasks (like listening to music in the background while working), such features are redundant — especially since 5.1 systems are quite expensive and can be difficult to set up. But in games and movies, this sound format allows you to achieve a powerful immersive effect and provide a unique experience. The subwoofer, in turn, provides powerful and rich bass that cannot be achieved on the speakers of the general range (it is usually more reasonable to use a separate subwoofer for this purpose, rather than installing a bass speaker in each of the speakers).
Note that there are more advanced formats of multi-channel surround sound — 7.1, 9.1 and others. However, such formats should be sought in general-purpose acoustics; for specialized computer speakers, the actual maximum is 5.1.
