Translator software

— software used in translation from one language to another.

Electronic dictionaries by their basic purpose do not differ from paper ones — they are designed to find equivalents of words and expressions from another language in one language. At the same time, the possibilities of electronic dictionaries are much wider, and the search is almost instantaneous. There is also a specific category of such programs — dictionaries designed to be connected to electronic translators.

Translation programs, as the name implies, are capable of translating entire sentences and even large texts into another language. The quality and literacy of such a translation, however, most often does not even reach mediocre, but it is often more important to understand the general meaning of a text in an unfamiliar or unfamiliar language than to achieve perfect literacy (and editing machine translation is sometimes easier than translating manually). A full-fledged translator programme has a set of different dictionaries — a dictionary of general vocabulary plus specialized ones (engineering, medical, computer, legal, etc.). These dictionaries can also be sold as separate add-ons.
