— the version of Office that followed Office 2013 in 2015. This refers only to editions with a traditional perpetual license for Windows; Office 365 subscriptions and Office for Mac are not included in this category (see relevant paragraphs).

According to the creators, Office 2016 is a completely new product; The main changes include a redesigned interface, deep integration with Internet services (including the ability to work with cloud storage files directly from the desktop and web search built into applications), plus some improvements and additions to the applications themselves. Interestingly, this version is not compatible with Office 2013 applications, however, it interacts well with earlier Microsoft office suites starting with Office 2003.

Like the previous version, Office 2016 comes in 5 traditional editions, of which three are available for purchase — Home&Student, Home&Business and Professional. But the individual selection of components in this version is not provided.
