Evaporative humidifiers

— the simplest method of operation, also called "traditional": air is driven by a fan through a cartridge humidified with water, and humidification occurs due to natural evaporation. The performance of such devices is low, it may take several days of continuous operation to achieve the required level of humidity. On the other hand, this method of humidification allows you to cope even with fairly large rooms without much energy, the noise level during operation is low, and the steam has room temperature, which reduces the likelihood of burns to zero (some models also provide the possibility of heating, see "warm steam"). In addition, the evaporation rate depends on the humidity of the air, and the intensity of the humidifier decreases as the humidity increases; due to this, it is practically impossible to overdo with humidification using a water model, even if there is no hygrostat in the design (see “Features”).Also, the advantages of the traditional principle of operation include undemanding the quality of water, and the disadvantages — the need for periodic replacement of filters.
