The Gitzo half bowl adapter allows a Systematic Series 5 tripod to be used with any 100mm diameter half ball fluid head (designed for video, but also widely chosen to support long telephoto lenses and spotting scopes).

The Gitzo quick release plates come in three different profiles (A, B and C).
Each profile is offered in different lengths (short or square, medium and long) and with different features (graduated, anti rotation pin) and attachments (1/4'' - 3/8''). This Gitzo top plate is the same as the one that comes as standard with a new Gitzo Systematic tripod (Series 2, 3 or 4).
It can mount a flat based photographic or video head, or any other equipment with a 3/8'' female thread.
The machined ring on the underside of the plate is compatible with the safety catch feature of Gitzo's updated Systematic range, offering secure, accident-proof support, even during changeovers of centre components.
The bottom of the plate also features a hook that allows weights or bags to be hung under the tripod to further improve stability.
