Nintendo
— a series of game consoles from the company of the same name. Devices under the Nintendo brand have been produced since 1983, their range is very diverse; however, today the most relevant models are the Wii U desktop console and the hybrid Switch, which are direct competitors to the Xbox and PlayStation. The Wii U (2012) is the successor to the original Wii, the first video game console with full motion controllers. The Wii U GamePad is actually a tablet with a touch screen and control buttons that allows, in particular, to play without using a TV — right on the controller screen. In addition, the console supports all original manipulators from the previous model, which allows you to use and control through body movements.
The Switch hybrid console replaced the Wii U in 2017. This set-top box consists of a tablet, a docking station, Joy-Con manipulators (there are two of them as standard) and an accessory for Grip manipulators. Using the docking station, you can connect your tablet to your TV, turning it into a desktop device; Joycons can be installed on the Grip, thus forming a full-fledged gamepad, or used separately (including as motion controllers). When using the tablet autonomously, the manipulators are attached to it from two sides. In addition to Joy-Con, a specialized Pro Controller controller is released for Switch in the form factor of a traditional gamepad. And in 2019, the Switch Lite version appeared on the market — a portable console in the form of a tablet with two non-removable Joy-Con analogues on the sides, which supports most of the games for the original Switch.
Games for Nintendo consoles are released on original cartridges or downloaded from the company's online store. An interesting feature of the Switch is the support for "cloud gaming", which allows you to run games with higher requirements than the set-top box itself can provide — in such cases, the computing load is shifted to cloud servers.
