Support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology minimizes image tearing, providing a more enjoyable gaming experience. The device comes with a new generation DualSense gamepad with proprietary adaptive triggers that can change the force of pressing depending on the settings of the current gaming session. Sony has also significantly redesigned the gamepad's haptic feedback system. The device's communication capabilities include a built-in LAN port for direct connection to the network, a wireless module with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth support, and three USB ports. Unlike the Digital version, the PS5 Slim is equipped with a removable disc drive that allows you to purchase games in both digital and physical formats.

The Slim index in the title describes one of the key differences from the original Playstation 4 — a thinner and more compact body.
