Winter tyres are designed for the cold season; most manufacturers recommend installing it when the average daily temperature is less than +7 °C. Studs, on the other hand, are designed to improve traction on ice and dense snow; at the same time, on asphalt and loose snow, such tyres perform worse than non-studded ones.
