— for rugged terrain (Rugged-Terrain). The Rugged-Terrain tire sits between the versatile A/T and the more aggressive M/T. It is made for challenging dirt roads, rocks, ruts, loose surfaces, and frequent driving off asphalt. Its tread is usually more robust than All-Terrain: the blocks are larger, the shoulder areas are more open, and the sidewalls often have additional protection.
At the same time, Rugged-Terrain remains suitable for regular roads, although it may be noisier and stiffer than a classic all-terrain tire. This option is chosen for SUVs and pickup trucks that mainly drive on forest roads, construction sites, or rugged terrain.
