Metal bandsaw

— all band saws use a looped metal band with teeth as a working element. At the same time, unlike chain models, there is no tyre in the design, and the necessary rigidity of the tape is achieved solely due to the tension between the two rollers. Due to this, the width of the blade is very small, which allows the use of such saws for finer work than the same chain saws. And the advantage of tape models over reciprocating ones is the uniform movement of the blade, which contributes to the accuracy of the cut.

Specifically, band saws for metal are remarkable in that they can be made both stationary (see "Type"), but also portable — unlike similar tools for wood, which are only stationary. At the same time, portable band tools can be a good alternative to traditional saws — although they are noticeably more expensive and heavier, they also require a power source, but they have higher productivity and require almost no effort.
