Lightfast

— a water-based ink that is highly resistant to light, especially ultraviolet light, which can cause fading of conventional inks. Similar properties have some other types of ink — pigment and solvent. However, water-soluble lightfast inks have a number of advantages: they are cheaper, provide brighter prints than using pigment, and are safer for health and the environment than solvent compositions.
