Clamp / clip

— a clamp is a tabletop mount based on a screw mechanism with one fixed jaw and a second jaw that can move back and forth as the screw rotates. When tightening the clamp, the jaws compress the flat surface of the table, fixing the holder on it. A clip is a fastener in the form of a large clothespin, consisting of two halves that are attracted to each other by a spring. Clips are less reliable than clamps, which is why they are used primarily among desktop models with relatively low “load capacity”.
