Hybrid amplifiers

 

— in accordance with the name, such models combine both types of elements — transistors and radio tubes. They are usually integrated amplifiers, where tubes are used in the pre-amp circuit and transistors are used in the power amplifier. This reduces the weight, size and cost of the device compared to all-tube models, while maintaining the characteristic "warm" sound.
