Those that live south of the Wall think that the Wildings living beyond it are nothing but primitive savages, not capable of utilizing any kind of advanced engineering in combat. Soldiers train for just about any contingent out on the battlefield. However, few have any real strategy for when they see a massive war elephant bearing down on their battle line. With the Golden Com more→panys deep resources, they can field these massive beasts, selling their services to anyone willing to pay their price. War Elephants are trained to get quickly into close combat and use their massive feet, giant tusks, and powerful trunks to stomp, smash, and destroy all in front of them. However, they are still simply beasts, and not having a trained Golden Company handler nearby may cause the Elephant to lose control. Still, their inclusion in a force can quickly tip the balance.
