The heating element of such a burner has the form of a thin corrugated metal strip placed under a flat surface, usually glass-ceramic. Thanks to this design, the burner responds noticeably faster to turning the power regulator than the classic solid plate burner (although some thermal inertia is still present). In addition, the work surface with Hi-Light heaters has virtually no protrusions, making cleaning much easier.
