In terms of coating quality, airless sprayers are inferior to air sprayers, but they are noticeably more performant and at the same time more economical due to minimal fogging. Other advantages of such models include the ability to work with more viscous materials and less dependence on solvents; The disadvantages are complexity and high cost.

It is also customary to attribute rollers to airless tools, since paint is also fed into them without the use of air.
