Clasp/elastic band

— the presence in the design of the diary of a fastener, elastic band or other device to hold the cover in the closed position. In case of accidental opening (for example, if the diary is carelessly placed in a bag or dropped), the pages may get dirty, wrinkled, etc.; a clasp or elastic band prevents such consequences.
