The production of LIM aircraft res more→ulted in a significant development of the aviation industry in Poland. The Lim-5 planes were equipped with the WK-1F engine also produced under license. 120 Lim-5 and 40 Lim-5P aircraft were delivered to the German Democratic Republic. East German aviation ordered parts from Poland for the needs of repairs modernization and modification of the aircraft as well. LIM-5 served in the German Air Force from 1958 to 1985.
