Flaubert plastic-handled revolvers

— a material extremely popular in both Flaubert's revolvers and starter pistols (see "Type"). This is due to a combination of low cost and practicality: plastic handles are comfortable to hold and pleasant to the touch; they can be easily applied with a relief pattern that does not allow the weapon to slide in the hand; the weight of the plastic is relatively small, and its strength is usually quite enough for both everyday use and to withstand “minor troubles” like falling out of your hands onto a hard surface. Of the more or less noticeable shortcomings of this material, one can only note the tendency to scratches, but this is more of an aesthetic, and not a practically significant point.
