AGM batteries for UPS
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat)
— lead-acid batteries with a liquid electrolyte in an absorbed state: the compartments of such a battery are filled with a porous material that contains acid. At the same time, the battery case is sealed, and AGM models are maintenance-free: in other words, the user does not have to monitor the electrolyte level and add water. This technology is the most popular in "uninterruptible" batteries: it is perfect for batteries that operate in buffer mode (that is, when they rarely have to be discharged and, usually, little by little), and also provides a good service life. Yes, AGM batteries are inexpensive. Among the disadvantages of this option, one can note the impossibility of replenishing the electrolyte when it leaks, as well as the poor tolerance of overcharging (although the latter becomes irrelevant with a high-quality power controller).Show
