— jack stands are accessories designed to be used in conjunction with jacks by raising the vehicle and then placing a stand under it. This allows you to "free" the jack to service other machines; in addition, most of the time the load falls on the stand, which reduces wear on the jack and extends its service life. With all this, stands are much cheaper, which makes such devices indispensable when servicing several cars at the same time.

Note that stands usually have their own lifting mechanism. However, this mechanism is intended only for height adjustment, and it is impossible to consider the stand as a full-fledged lift.
