— backs without any upholstery. By definition, this category includes all open backs (see "Back") — it simply does not make sense to provide upholstery in them. However, a similar design can be provided in other varieties — semi-closed and even closed; in some models this is done to reduce cost, in others for design reasons. Anyway, the lack of upholstery somewhat reduces comfort, but makes it easier to keep clean — “naked” backs are made of materials that are easy to wipe and even wash.
