— this feature is indicated for tyres of a special design, in which the tread has an increased thickness — often due to additional inserts from special materials such as dense rubber, Kevlar, etc. Thanks to this feature, the likelihood of a wheel puncture is reduced: small sharp objects like glass fragments or pebbles simply do not reach the camera. But it is precisely such objects that pose the greatest danger to the cyclist — because of their invisibility on the road. A large object may well pierce even such a “protected” tyre, but it is easier to notice it. The disadvantages of models with this function are high cost and slightly increased weight.
