Alginate masks
Alginate
— alginate masks are called masks created on the basis of extracts of certain seaweeds. The name itself comes from the main active ingredient of such masks — alginic acid. In cosmetology, the most important feature of this substance is the ability to absorb and bind a large amount of water with impurities dissolved in it. This allows the use of alginic acid (in pure form and in the form of alginate salts) as a sorbent cleaner. The alginate mask works like this: after its application, the skin begins to sweat, with which a large amount of various contaminants, toxins and toxins come out, this sweat is actively absorbed by the mask and, at the end of the procedure, is removed along with it. It is worth noting here that alginate masks are also called modeling: they freeze on the skin after application and, when removed, simply peel off without much difficulty. In addition to cleansing, alginates also have a bactericidal, tonic, rejuvenating and anti-cellulite (lymphatic drainage) effect. After the use of such products, the skin becomes more “receptive” to other cosmetic products, absorbs them faster and more efficiently, due to which alginate masks are often used in complex cosmetic procedures, at preliminary stages.
