The Edifier R1855DB speakers offer a mix of opinions from users. One user appreciates the good sound quality, soft bass, and the convenient remote control, highlighting the design as a positive aspect. However, another user had a negative experience, criticizing the speakers for having issues like scratches, stains, and poor mid-frequency sound, describing them as overpriced and unsatisfactory. The speakers are noted for their active type with a 2.1 channel setup, featuring Bluetooth connectivity and a remote control, making them suitable for home use. Despite the mixed reviews, the product's design and features like treble and bass control are noteworthy.
As far as computer speakers go, they're not bad. If you're listening to music, they're crap.

Used for less than a month. The sound isn't too bad overall, but for a 12m² room, it's somewhat weak. Note that the power of a single speaker is 35W, and together, both realistically perform at about 50W (that's even being generous). Used together with a subwoofer, the Edifier T5 (only using standard connections, no splitters/mixers, etc.), so there was enough bass, as well as highs. About the speakers themselves: On their own, they play respectably, the clarity/detail is pretty good (for the untrained ear), surprisingly there is bass too (with the sub, it's fantastic*), but the mid-range is just a disaster. You can adjust it with the equalizer, but achieving a "live voice" is very difficult, almost impossible due to the small driver diameter. Dynamic songs/tracks perform quite well. + I encountered some defect where the sub-out connection of the speakers emitted a low-frequency crackling (not to be confused with interference and network hum). I struggled a bit, thought it was an issue on my end... No quality cables, DAC at the input, or connection type fixed the issue, only a professional loop isolator between the sub and speakers helped, but it "suppressed" the sub and made the bass blurry. In short, returned to the store and said a prayer. They don't suffice for a full 2.1 setup, though they seem intended for it. The question is, why bother with such a "happiness" for the price, if you have to "fight" rather than just use it.
The biggest problem is that there's practically nothing on the market to replace them without moving to a higher price bracket. So it's either these or something more expensive.
Quite a nice sound, to be honest, Edifier surprised here. Cool design. Lots of connection options.
Malfunction of the sub-out, info from forums, this is a very common occurrence, possibly even a design flaw, and it ruins the signal for the subwoofer. Weak midrange frequencies. The actual power at which they play properly (without turning to mush) is much lower. Issues with warranty, because if purchased outside the list of authorized brand representatives' stores, prepare for problems and stress. When buying from official representatives, the price tag on them is just ridiculous. They don't live up to their official price. Just like with their "honest" power, if you divided it by 2, it would be okay.
