I bought it to replace the reliable Omron S1 and was pleasantly surprised by Omron M2 Basic's ability to automatically detect the upper pressure limit and inflate the cuff to the appropriate pressure during measurement (for example, if the pressure is 110/65, the compressor inflates the cuff to 130/85, that's 20 units higher). Another great advantage is the included power adapter and the ability to run on batteries, maintaining consistently high accuracy when powered by batteries. However, one drawback is the high battery consumption during standalone use (a set of alkaline batteries realistically lasts for 60 measurements instead of the 100 stated in the manual). In addition to high autonomy, Omron M2 Basic is distinguished by its unprecedented durability. With careful handling and proper operation, the cuff will outlive the 6-month warranty period at least three times, and the electronic unit will work significantly longer than 5 years.
But the included case could have been more solid. It is shapeless, frankly cheap in appearance and touch and clearly deserves to gather dust in the corner. Against the background of advantages, the disappointment is, of course, small, but it is there.
To sum it up, let's say that Omron M2 Basic is not only useful, but also a profitable investment in health. And therefore, a "must have".
